8th X4 miitti 2016
8 – 10.7. 2016 Isojoki
The meeting weekend is just behind and below you’ll find the first few pics from the event.
Once again it was so nice to both meet old friends and make new ones!
On Friday many attendances arrived at least somewhat soaked, however Saturday morning provided us a nice riding weather. Also on Sunday many of us were able to ride home dry. Colleagues from Germany are still on the way back to their homes, so the statement above does not apply to them… Anyway, on Friday evening a warm sauna was very much appreciated among incomers.
This year several motorcycles faced electrical problems; Regulator on Jarkko’s bike broke down already on the way to the meeting. He was able to continue the journey to the meeting after filling up the battery. the regulator was replaced on Saturday morning, but at that point Juha his bike didn’t have enough juice to turn the starter. Saku helped him to jump start the bike and at that point Sakus battery died… Juha’s bike was now fine but Saku couldn’t join to the afternoon ride at all.
Those who were able to ride followed curvy coastal roads to Reposaari and Yyteri. The sun was shining and life was good. During the trip we picked up a couple of new batteries to replace the bad ones, many thanks to Arja and Jari who carried them to the meting place.
Already before the ride we had a competition called X4cup. Theme of the year was “mopo & jopo”, mastering both a moped and a bicycle. Total time and penalty points were counted in.
In this event Pete was a master; the best time 41,4 seconds and no penalty points at all! The winner in Ladie’s group was Heli, Arja being a close runner-up.
The longest distance prizes were handed over to Arja (568km) and Kermit (3532km).
Favorite bike nomination went to Germany, again Kermit his 2nd prize at his 1st visit to Finland.
The youngest participant was Jere, X4 attitude prize was given to Ahti and Haggel & Markku shared “the sunshine of the day” nomination. Juha was awarded due to a long term contribution to running everyday tasks in the club.
Then our hostesses took over the show, the same way they have done already few years. Irene got a pepper grinder as the most ridibund person, a head lamp was handed over to Jere being the youngest participant and Haggel was nominated because of the best “crash” during the X4 cup. This proves that the competition was fierce, but still fun. Haggel wasn’t the only one who made a mistake, fortunately the soft ground and low speeds helped to limit the damages being only mental. Even those were praised by applauds by the audience, due to competitors giving everything they had.
All in all, the weekend went by flying in a good tune. Sauna was in use also in Saturday, we had a campfire in the evening, good laugh and delicious food were included. The firsthand feedback is that everyone had a good time, so we’ve already started the planning of 2017 miitti. It will be 10 year anniversary for X4Finland…
